JACKSONVILLE – Continuity is cool, and Trevor Lawrence likes it.
Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen does, too – with Lawrence and Coen speaking this week of the importance of the Jaguars' three coordinators returning for the 2026 season. Such continuity is rare in the NFL these days – and it could be an edge for the Jaguars.
"It's huge," Coen said.
Offensive coordinator Grant Udinski, defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile and special teams coordinator Heath Farwell – all key pieces of the Jaguars' 2025 AFC South Championship season – will return for the 2026 season.
Lawrence called retaining Udinski critical.
"He's a huge piece to this puzzle," Lawrence said.

Udinski and Campanile were in their first season with the Jaguars' last season, with Farwell in his third season. The Jaguars went 13-4 – their best record since 1999 – and won their first division title since 2022 in Coen's first season as head coach.
Twenty-one of 32 NFL teams will have new offensive coordinators in 2026, with 14 teams having new defensive coordinators.
"There's no doubt in my mind those guys will be head coaches," Coen said. "To get them back for the continuity and communication, for our guys and for our staff to our players, was big."

Udinski, in his first season as a coordinator in 2025, interviewed with the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns for their then-vacant head-coaching positions following the '25 season. Campanile, also in his first season as a coordinator in 2025, interviewed with the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals for their then-vacant head coaching positions following the '25 season.
"You hire two first-timers thinking you're going to maybe have a little bit of a runway with those guys," Coen said. "Then you have Year 1 success, and those things come with it. It's great to get those two back and really to have continuity at all three of our coordinator positions – especially because there was turnover last year.
"There has been turnover in multiple years at the coordinator positions here, so I didn't really want to have to go and really hire, but you want to support guys throughout that process. They deserve those opportunities to come. For people to talk to those guys is an honor in and of itself."
Farwell will enter his fourth season with the Jaguars next season, with the Jaguars generally considered one of the NFL's better special teams during his tenure.
"I think low-key people don't realize we were another top five special-teams unit," Coen said. "He just keeps churning out with a bunch of new starters in that phase."

Lawrence in his first season working with Udinski and Coen finished fifth in the AP NFL Most Valuable Player voting in 2025, setting a franchise record with 38 total touchdowns – 29 passing and nine rushing.
"He made a huge impact – just the amount of work he puts in, how smart he is," Lawrence said of Udinski. "He's really good at finding weaknesses in defenses, just breaking down the defenses and presenting them to us as quarterbacks saying, 'This is what we're playing against this week. This is what they like to do.'
"He makes it real simple: 'This is why they do this. They only play this coverage out of this front.' I can pretty much ask him any question and he can give me a quick answer. He has watched all the tapes so much that he knows that stuff like the back of his hand.
"He just brings a standard to the room. He never misses an opportunity to coach. He takes away a lot of the gray on Sunday and reduces the unknowns."
QUOTABLE
- Lawrence: "We're definitely proud of the season we had. You put in too much work to not be proud of what you do. We won a lot of games, so we're definitely proud of that. And it shows that we've made a lot of improvements. You don't win 13 games on accident. There's a lot of work that goes into that. But the good thing is we're all left with that feeling after the season watching the games -- until the Super Bowl and through the Super Bowl – of, 'Man, we could beat any of these teams.' That's not a good feeling because you wish you were there. But it's a good feeling because you know you belong and I think that we have that belief in this building. You have to restart. You have to go earn it. But we have what it takes to be in the mix and have our opportunity. We just have to get there again."
