Grant Udinski was hired as offensive coordinator on February 5, 2025. He enters his seventh season coaching in the NFL and second in Jacksonville after three seasons (2022-24) with the Minnesota Vikings, most recently as the assistant offensive coordinator/assistant quarterbacks coach.
Udinski helped lead the Jaguars record-breaking offense to new heights in 2025. The Jaguars ranked in the top 10 in the NFL in points per game (27.9 - sixth), scoring margin (+138 - fourth), first downs (356 – seventh) and total touchdowns (55 – fifth). The team's 474 points scored, 55 touchdowns and 356 first downs also established new franchise records.
Individually, QB Trevor Lawrence had a career year and was named an MVP and Comeback Player of the Year finalist under Udinski's guidance as he had a franchise-record 38 total touchdowns, threw for over 4,000 yards and finished fifth in passing touchdowns (29) and tied second in rushing touchdowns (nine) among NFL quarterbacks. Lawrence flourished during the team's eight-game win streak to close out the regular season, going without a turnover in a four-game span (Weeks 13-16), tied for the third longest streak in the NFL in 2025. In that same span, he had four consecutive games with a passer rating of 100.0-plus, tied for the league's second-longest streak in '25.
RB Travis Etienne Jr. surpassed the 1,000 rushing yard mark (1,107 - 11th most in NFL) and produced 13 total scores (seven rushing, six receiving), tied for the seventh most among NFL running backs. Etienne Jr. ranked second in receiving TDs (seven), tied ninth in runs of 20-plus yards (seven) and tied seventh in rushes of 40-plus yards (three) among NFL running backs. Etienne Jr. joined 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey as the only players since 2022 to have at least seven rushing touchdowns and six receiving touchdowns in a season.
WR Parker Washington (58 receptions for 847 yards and five touchdowns) and TE Brenton Strange (46 receptions for 540 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns) saw career highs in every major receiving category in their first year working with Udinksi. Jacksonville was one of four teams to have three players with 700-plus receiving yards (Washington, WR Brian Thomas Jr. and WR Jakobi Meyers) in 2025. WR Jakobi Meyers, a mid-season acquistion, made an immediate impact ranking third in receiving first downs (28), fourth in receptions (42) and seventh in receiving yards in the AFC after joining the team in Week 10.
During the 2024 season, the Vikings offense finished top 10 in the NFL in multiple categories including sixth in passing yards per game (237.8), seventh in passing yards per play (7.38), ninth in points per game (25.4) and 10th in first downs per game (20.8). Minnesota was 9-1 in one-possession games in 2024, the second-best mark league-wide. Their 15 games with 20-plus points scored tied for second-most in the NFL and their 432 total points marked their third-highest total in franchise history. Three members of the Vikings offense (QB Sam Darnold, WR Justin Jefferson and T Brian O'Neill) were named to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, and Jefferson was voted a unanimous AP First-Team All-Pro.
QB Sam Darnold finished the regular season fifth in the NFL in passing yards (4,319) and passing touchdowns (35) and sixth in passer rating (102.5). He became the first quarterback in NFL history to record 14 wins in his first season with a team and the winningest quarterback in a single season in Vikings history. Darnold finished tied for the second-most games with a 100.0-plus passer rating in a season in NFL history (13), matching the season totals of Aaron Rodgers in 2011, Patrick Mahomes in 2018 and Lamar Jackson in 2024 (min. 20 attempts). He led the NFL in completions of 20-plus yards with 62 and completions of 25-plus yards with 41.
Jefferson ranked second in the NFL with 1,533 receiving yards. His 28 receptions of 20-plus yards led the NFL and were seven more than any other player, and his 14.9 yards per reception were the highest in the league (min. 70 receptions). His team-leading 10 touchdown receptions tied his career best. WR Jordan Addison posted 875 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns, tying for second in franchise history for the most receiving touchdowns by a player in his first two seasons (19). The Vikings were one of two teams in the NFL in 2024 with two players in the top 10 in touchdown receptions (Jefferson, tied-sixth, and Addison, tied-ninth). For the third time in team history, Minnesota had three wide receivers with at least six receiving touchdowns in a season (Addison, Jefferson and Jalen Nailor) and were one of three teams in the NFL in 2024 to achieve the feat.
Udinski also served as assistant quarterbacks coach/chief of special projects in 2023 and previously served as the assistant to the head coach/special projects in 2022.
In his first season as assistant quarterbacks coach, the Vikings finished in the top 10 in the NFL in passing yards per game (fifth; 256.4), fourth-down percentage (tied-sixth; 58.62), passing yards per play (ninth; 6.91) and first downs per game (10th; 20.0).
He helped navigate the 2023 season with four different starting quarterbacks, the most in franchise history, due to a season-ending injury to QB Kirk Cousins in Week 8. Before his injury, Cousins ranked third in the NFL in passer rating (103.8) and completion percentage (69.5). In addition to Cousins, Udinski assisted in preparing rookie Jaren Hall, Joshua Dobbs and Nick Mullens, who each started multiple games for the Vikings throughout the season. Minnesota won three consecutive games with a different starting quarterback in Weeks 8-10 (Cousins, Hall and Dobbs). The Vikings' quarterbacks combined for 74 completions of 20-plus yards, the second-highest total in the league and the most by a Vikings team since 2000. Their 30 combined touchdown passes tied for fourth-most in the league.
Udinski entered the NFL ranks as coaching assistant with Carolina (2020-21) after spending the 2019 season at Baylor as a graduate assistant.
Prior to becoming a coach, Udinski played defensive end at Towson from 2016-18. He played in all 12 games in 2018, finishing the season with 28 total tackles, 4.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. The Doylestown, Pa., native also played one season at Davidson College as a tight end before transferring to Towson in 2016.
