Jones-Drew carries the load

Third straight 1,000-yard rushing season

Maurice Jones-Drew finished with 99 yards on 18 rushes to increase his season total to 1,040 yards on 230 carries.  It marked Jones-Drew's third straight 1,000-yard rushing season.  He has at least 84 rushing yards in 10 of first 11 games.

Getting involved in the passing game

Maurice Jones-Drew had a season-high 67 yards on four receptions.  He recorded a season-long 31-yard reception in the second quarter, the fifth-longest of his career.  It marked the first play of 30-plus yards for the Jaguars since week five against Cincinnati.   * *

Youbuty gets start at cornerback; scores first career TD in first quarter

Sixth-year pro Ashton Youboty made his eighth career start today as he opened at cornerback.  Youboty, who was signed by the Jaguars on Nov. 15, scooped up an Arian Foster fumble and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown on the third play from scrimmage for the Texans.  It was Youboty's first career touchdown and the first defensive touchdown for the Jaguars since Oct. 5, 2008 vs. Pittsburgh (Rashean Mathis, 72-yard interception return for a TD).* *

Scobee hits on two of three field goals

Josh Scobee connected on field goals of 21 and 35 yards and was wide right on a 55-yard attempt late in the first half.  Scobee has hit 18 of 20 field goals (90.0 pct.) in 11 games.

Defense holds Texans to 215 yards; 47 yards in the second half

The Texans entered today's game averaging 396.2 yards per game and 27.3 points, but were held to 215 yards and 20 points by the Jaguars.  The Texans managed only 47 yards in the second half.  The Jaguars have held opponents under 300 yards in seven of the first 11 games and nine of the first 11 opponents were held below their average.  The Texans converted on two of 15 plays on third down for a 13 percent.

Meester sets franchise record for games played

Center Brad Meester set a franchise record today by playing in his 172nd career game.  Meester surpassed Jimmy Smith (171).  Today was Meester's 53 consecutive start, the most of the current roster, and tied for the eighth-most in team history.  He owns the top mark after starting 92 straight games after being drafted in 2000.  By playing in 2011, Meester became the first player in team history to play 12 seasons, breaking the tie he shared with Smith and Fred Taylor (11).

Here's a look at where Meester stands in the Jaguars record book:
