JACKSONVILLE – The year turns, the roster churns.

Wednesday for the Jaguars was about more than agreeing to terms with quarterback Nick Foles; the 4 p.m. start of the 2019 NFL League year also meant the departure of a slew of players.

Running back T.J. Yeldon and wide receiver Rashad Greene Sr. – players from the team's 2015 draft class – were among 16 players whose Jaguars contracts expired at the end of the 2018 League Year. Those players all became free agents at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Guard A.J. Cann also became a free agent at 4 p.m., though reports were Cann – a third-round selection in the '15 draft who started 15 games last season – had agreed to terms to re-sign with the team.

Yeldon (five starts last season) was a '15 second-round selection and Greene (one) was selected in the fifth round that year. The 16 players who became free agents Wednesday started a total of 89 games for the Jaguars last season and included:

*Wide receiver Donte Moncrief, who signed a one-year contract as an unrestricted free agent last offseason and who started 14 games last season.

*Seven more offensive linemen: guard Tyler Shatley (seven starts this past season), tackle Josh Wells (six), guard Chris Reed (one), tackle Ereck Flowers (seven), guard Patrick Omameh (five), tackle Corey Robinson (one) and guard/tackle Josh Walker (three). While none started Week 1, all started at least one Jaguars game last season with a total of 30 starts.

*Three tight ends: Blake Bell (four starts), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (five) and James O'Shaughnessy (seven).

Fullback Tommy Bohanon (six starts), running back Corey Grant (one), wide receiver Jaydon Mickens (none) and cornerback Tyler Patmon (one) also became free agents Wednesday.
