JACKSONVILLE – This day might have been the most eventful yet.

That was positive for multiple positions on Day 3 of Jaguars 2026 Training Camp at the Miller Electric Center Friday morning, perhaps most notably for quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the rest of the passing game.

Lawrence has looked strong in recent days, and Coen lauded the sixth-year veteran early in his post-practice media availability Friday.

"In terms of running the show, the operation, and also accuracy and putting the ball on the guys and spreading it out, he's seeing it really well right now," Coen said.

The Jaguars worked for two hours in helmets and light pads on Day 3 of '26 camp Friday, a session that included plenty of situational drills – and plenty of highlights from Lawrence and the Jaguars' passing game.

"He has been accurate," wide receiver Jakobi Meyers said. "I can say that for sure. And he's spreading it around. I feel like everybody has gotten a chance to touch it a little bit. He has been communicating well. He's just been doing better and better since I got here last year."

Lawrence threw five touchdowns Friday -- two to wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., one to Meyers, one to running back Bhayshul Tuten and one two wide receiver Parker Washington to cap an end-of-game drill late in practice.

"Day 1 was not his best or our best as a receiver group," Coen said. "As a crew, I thought [Thursday] was very sharp. Some of the throws he made [Thursday] were legitimate big-time, big-time throws that, you're really excited about seeing.

"There were some things in the red zone [Friday] he did really well, and there are a couple clips we can learn from in terms of just how fast things happen down there."

Lawrence's growth in Coen's offensive system is a key 2026 storyline, with tight end veteran Strange on Friday discussing Lawrence's progress.

"It's a lot of different things," tight end Brenton Strange said. "It's a combination of maturity, trust in his playmakers around him and stability in his playmakers around him. It's a good system as well, a system that gives him all the answers and gives him the right matchups. I'm super-excited to continue growing with Trevor.

"He's one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. When he's playing, there aren't many people who are even close to being as good as him."

Also drawing praise from Coen Friday: Thomas, who has followed a strong offseason program with strong performances early in camp. A Pro Bowl selection as a rookie in 2024, Thomas made multiple receptions Friday on tight-window passes.

"I've been pleased with how strong his hands have been at some of the point of contact," Coen said of Thomas. "We're just continuing to see from the spring to now, just taking those steps that we all wanted to see, and that we're all excited to see. If he can add that element of not just being on the outside and going vertical … When you're fast as he is, those runaways and crossers can be a tough cover with a big dude like that.

"Some of the routes BT ran [Thursday] were high, high level. When he can get open and run and open his stride, now it's like, 'Is he running by you? Is he going to run the deep out? Is he running the deep curl? Is he going to run the deep dagger?'

"That puts a corner in a bind, especially when you can open up your stride as he can."

PLAY OF THE DAY

Third-year cornerback Jarrian Jones made several big plays Friday, but his biggest came during early red-zone drills. Jones made an athletic diving interception off Lawrence in the end zone after covering Washington and diagnosing where the Jaguars were planning to attack -- one of the most impressive individual plays thus far in camp.

STANDING OUT

• Safety Caleb Ransaw recorded a pair of pass-breakups in team drills, including one to prevent a near touchdown in the end zone.
• Second-year linebacker Branson Combs intercepted backup quarterback Nick Mullens during 7-on-7 on with an acrobatic leaping catch.
• Tight end Tanner Koziol and wide receiver Austin Trammell caught touchdowns from Mullens during red-zone drills.

INJURY WATCH

Second-year linebacker Jack Kiser missed practice for a second consecutive day with a knee injury sustained early in practice Wednesday; he is expected to return later in training camp/preseason. Left tackle Cole Van Lanen (knee) and offensive lineman Garrett DiGiorgio (foot) remain on the Physically Unable to Perform list, with running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. (knee) continuing to work in individual drills early in camp. Guard Patrick Mekari continues to work mostly in individual drills, and Strange worked mostly in individual drills Friday until late in the team period. Defensive tackle Arik Armstead was out of practice Friday with a veteran day.
