JAGUARS SIGN QB JAMIE MARTIN, RE-SIGN CURRY AND INGRAM, THREE OTHER PLAYERS ADDED TO ROSTER

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed quarterback Jamie Martin, who spent the 1998 season with the team, and they have re-signed defensive end Eric Curry and guard/offensive tackle Steve Ingram, who were on the 1999 roster. In addition, the Jaguars have signed wide receiver Gunnard Twyner, quarterback Roderick Robinson and offensive tackle John Feugill.

Martin, 30, was a backup with the Cleveland Browns in 1999, though he was inactive as the third quarterback for 15 games and did not see action as the backup in the season finale. A six-year veteran, Martin replaced an injured Mark Brunell on the first series of the game on December 6, 1998 and led the Jaguars to a 37-22 victory over the Detroit Lions. He started the following week vs. Tennessee but suffered torn knee ligaments just before halftime with the score tied 10-10 (the Titans won 16-13). Martin's career totals are 10 games and one start, with 50 completions in 79 attempts (63.3 percent), 596 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. His passer rating is 96.9.

Curry, 30, suffered a knee injury in the Jaguars' October 11 victory over the New York Jets and was placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season. For the year, he played in five games and made 10 tackles, half a sack and three QB pressures. He joined the Jaguars one game into the 1998 season and played in 11 games before starting both postseason contests. Curry was originally a first-round draft choice of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1993.

Ingram, 28, is a four-year veteran who can played either guard or tackle. In 1999, he played in six games, at left guard and right tackle and on special teams. He also played in both playoff games. Ingram was originally a seventh-round draft choice of the Buccaneers in 1995.

Twyner, 26, spent the 1996 season on Cincinnati's practice squad, and he was on New Orleans' practice squad in 1997 until playing in the final two games. He spent all of the '98 season on injured reserve with a knee injury, and then was waived by the Saints in the final cuts last September 5. The 5-10, 183-pound Twyner holds Western Illinois' record with 2,243 career receiving yards. … Robinson, 23, was signed as an undrafted rookie by Indianapolis in 1999 and spent the preseason with the Colts before being waived in the final cuts on September 5. He was signed to Philadelphia's practice squad on September 15 and released on October 19. The 6-2, 230-pound Robinson started at quarterback for Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 1997 and '98. … Feugill, 24, was not selected in the 1999 draft after suffering a foot injury during his senior season at the University of Maryland in 1998. He rehabbed his injury in 1999 and is healthy again. The 6-7, 308-pound Feugill (pronounced FEW-go) started every game at right tackle from 1996 to '98 and made two starts at tackle and blocking tight end as a redshirt freshman.
