JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed 10th-year RB Jamaal Charles and rookie RB Dave Williams (off Denver's practice squad) to the active roster and have promoted first-year TE David Grinnage from their practice squad to the 53-man active roster. The Jaguars also signed rookie TE Pharoah McKever to the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars placed fourth-year RB Corey Grant and fifth-year TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins on the team's reserve/injured list and released first-year RB Brandon Wilds.

Charles, 5-11, 199, was originally selected in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft by Kansas City. Since then, he has played in 117 games with 69 starts during a nine-year stint with the Chiefs, and, most recently, in Denver in 2017. Charles was selected to the Pro Bowl four times (2010, 2012-14), and was named first team Associated Press All-Pro following the 2010 and 2013 seasons. His professional totals include 1,401 rushes for 7,556 yards (5.4 rush avg.) and 44 TDs. His 5.40 rushing avg. is the highest in NFL history among players with at least 1,000 rushes. The University of Texas product has eclipsed 1,000 yards in five of his 10 NFL seasons.

Williams, 6-1, 229, was originally selected in the seventh round (226th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft by Denver, and spent the first five weeks of the season on Denver's practice squad after being released and signed during final roster reductions in early Sept. Williams, 24 (June 17, 1994), appeared in 42 career games with six starts at the University of Arkansas (2017) and the University of South Carolina (2013-16). In college, he totaled 304 carries for 1,450 yards (4.8 rush avg.) with 13 TDs, in addition to 37 catches for 435 yards (11.8 rec. avg.) with two TDs. Williams, who grew up in Philadelphia, Pa. and was a two-time first-team all-city at Imhotep Institute Charter High School, graduated from the University of South Carolina in May 2017 with a retail management degree.

Grinnage, 6-5, 265, spent the entire 2017 season and the first five weeks of the 2018 season on Jacksonville's practice squad. Grinnage has yet to appear in an NFL game after originally signing as an undrafted rookie with Green Bay on April 30, 2016. A three-year letterman at North Carolina State University, he caught 67 passes for 798 yards and nine TDs and left for the NFL following his redshirt junior season.
