Lawrence "Fine," Washington Questionable | Friday Quick Hits Before Week 15 vs. Jets

WK15 FRI QH

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars on Friday practiced at the Miller Electric Center.

The Jaguars (9-4) will play the New York Jets (3-10) at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville Sunday in a 2025 Week 15 game. A look at Friday around the Jaguars – with Head Coach Liam Coen speaking to the media for the final time before Sunday:

Trevor Lawrence is expected to play and start Sunday.

Lawrence, the Jaguars' starting quarterback in all 13 games this season, appeared on the team's injury report this week for the first time this season. He was listed as practicing limited in a comparatively light practice Wednesday, then practiced full Thursday and Friday.

Coen called the situation "nothing, really."

"He's fine," Coen said of Lawrence, who has thrown 9 touchdowns in the Jaguars' current 4-game winning streak – including 4 with no interceptions in the last 2 games.

Lawrence, after playing in every game in each of his first 2 NFL seasons, missed 1 game in 2023 and played through injuries in the last 6 games that season. He missed 7 games in 2024 with injuries.

The Jaguars on Friday released their third and final injury report of the week, with starting wide receiver Parker Washington listed as questionable for Sunday with a hip injury and left tackle Walker Little listed as questionable with a concussion.

Washington and Little missed a victory over the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday with the injury.

Nine Jaguars players were listed without status Friday, meaning they are expected to be available to play Sunday: Tight end Quintin Morris (ankle), starting left guard Ezra Cleveland (shoulder), Lawrence, starting defensive tackle Arik Armstead (hand), rookie defensive end B.J. Green II (knee), starting defensive end Travon Walker (knee), cornerback Jarrian Jones (neck) and safety Andrew Wingard (concussion).

This marked the first week since Week 6 the Jaguars have not ruled a player out on the week's final injury report.

"It's great to get as much of your full team out there as we can have," Coen said, adding that it also makes the team's competitive "mamba" practice periods during week "a little bit more exciting as well. You're able to get more guys reps, get the tempo of practice going a little bit, so it's great to have a little bit more of a fuller unit.

"It's continuously creating competition within our own building each week against your opponent, but we've got to compete for a jersey and helmet on Sundays and that's what you're ultimately looking for in your team."

Coen on Friday praised middle linebacker Foyesade Oluokun, a key part of the Jaguars' No. 1-run defense, calling Oluokun "a pro's pro off the field in terms of the way he handles his business but playing at a high level."

Coen also praised Oluokun in pass defense.

"That has been pretty impressive to see, taking that accountability at that second level of the defense – whether it be in zone or man match coverage, getting his hands on balls, playing with anticipation and understanding of the scheme," Coen said. "Not only the preparation of maybe what's coming in these down and distances and just tackling, getting guys to the ground. That's so much of this game, you go back to youth football, it's running, tackling and hitting and he's done it at a high level for us this year."

Oluokun leads the Jaguars with 103 tackles this season, including 5 for loss, with 2 pressures and 2 forced fumbles. He is one of four NFL players with 100 or more tackles in each of the last seasons.

Coen on Friday, too, praised Jaguars players for their preparation this season.

"It's a collaborative effort," Coen said. "You continue to try to put your players in a position to be most successful throughout the week while challenging them as well during the week to give them certain difficult situations that can come up, so that maybe Sundays are easier.

"That's the goal, it's what you'd like to do as a coach. It's not like our guys are out there throughout the week trying to take plays off and looking for vet days, and guys to take reps off, at all. Our guys have practiced hard and it starts with the leadership."
