Game Report, 2025 Week 18: Jaguars 41, Titans 7

WK18 GAME REPORT

JACKSONVILLE – Cue the Celebration. Break out the cap and T-Shirts.

The Jaguars are 2025 AFC South champions.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw more three touchdowns, and the Jaguars spent a record-setting Sunday happy and celebrating – and clinching the division in dominant fashion, 41-7 over the Tennessee Titans in front of 66,015 at EverBank Stadium.

"I'm very proud of this group," Head Coach Liam Coen said.

The Jaguars (13-4) with the victory clinched their first AFC South title since 2022, their fifth division title in franchise history. They won the 2017 and 2022 South titles, having won AFC Central titles in 1998 and 1999.

"It's been an awesome year," Lawrence said. "It took a lot of focus and grit throughout the season, just taking it one week at a time. We had some ups and some downs. We're playing our best ball at the most important time, going into the playoffs.

"It feels awesome. It's not easy to do."

The Jaguars, after starting Coen's first season as head coach 5-4, won their final regular-season eight games. They took sole possession of first place in Week 14, then held off the runner-up Houston Texans (12-5) through the final month of the season.

They haven't lost since losing a 19-point fourth-quarter lead in a Week 10 loss at Houston, with Coen on Sunday praising the team's resilience and toughness.

"They're a fun, special group to be around," he said.

Lawrence on Sunday threw first-half touchdown passes to wide receiver Parker Washington tight end Brenton Strange and tight end Quintin Morris, with safety Antonio Johnson returning his fifth interception of the season for a touchdown in a first half dominated by the Jaguars.

"It's a great feeling," Johnson said. "We worked hard all year to get to this point. We knew the assignment. We came out and executed at a high level today."

Kicker Cam Little's 67-yard field goal on the first half's final play gave the Jaguars a 31-7 lead after they trailed 7-0 following the Titans' first possession.

Little now has the two longest field goals in NFL history. He set the NFL record for longest field goal with a 68-yarder in a 2025 Week 9 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Las Vegas.

The Jaguars' 13 regular-season victories are the second most in franchise history, second only to the 1999 AFC Central champions that finished the regular season 14-2. They finished 4-13 last season.

The Jaguars this season finished 5-1 in the South, their best division record since the South began in 2002. They also went 3-0 at home in the South for the first time.

Lawrence completed 22 of 30 passes for 255 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions Sunday. He finished the 2025 regular season with 29 touchdowns passing and nine rushing with 11 interceptions. He had 20 touchdowns and five interceptions during the eight-game season-ending winning streak.

Lawrence left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter after surpassing 4,000 yards passing for the season for a third time in his five NFL seasons.

"You want those kinds of things for players like that," Coen said. "Just the year that he's had, especially since the bye, the way that he's playing at an MVP-caliber – he has earned it. He's playing at such a high level. The players all love him, they trust him, they believe in him, as do we as coaches."

Lawrence's 38 total touchdowns for the season broke the franchise record of 37 held by former Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles in 2015.

Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, left the game with a shoulder injury following a 7-yard touchdown that gave the Titans an early lead. Backup Brandon Allen completed 17 of 30 passes for 72 yards with an interception.

Johnson's interception gave the Jaguars 31 takeaways for the season after a league-low nine last season, a remarkable turnaround statistic in a remarkable season that resulted in a division title – with an opportunity for more moving forward.

"You win 13 games, and there are a lot of records and stuff that are really cool for these guys – individually and collectively as a team," Coen said. "To win the division in Year 1, for sure is very special – but a lot of work to do still."
