Preseason will help sell

The most attractive preseason schedule in Jaguars history should certainly help the team sell its multi-game packages for the 2003 season.

"Preseason is always difficult to say. Last year we had Tampa and Dallas. Right now there's just the general buzz. People are waiting on the regular schedule and then we'll concentrate on it a little more," Jaguars Executive Director of Ticket Sales Scott Loft said of the preseason schedule that was announced by the team yesterday.

That schedule begins with a Sat., Aug. 9 game at Minnesota at eight p.m. But three big guns follow: Miami at Alltel Stadium on Fri., Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m.; at Tampa Bay on Sat., Aug. 23 at eight p.m.; and the Steve Spurrier-led Washington Redskins at Alltel Stadium in the preseason finale at Alltel Stadium on Thur., Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. All four games are scheduled to be shown on WTEV-TV, Channel 47.

"Having Miami and Washington at home in the preseason, and then Miami and Tampa at home in the regular season; it's a fabulous schedule. Plus, we're hoping to have a home game on Nov. 30, which would be our 10th anniversary. The schedule is fabulous; the best we've had in years," Loft said.

The NFL is expected to announce its 2003 regular season schedule within the next couple of weeks.
