Food drive nets 12 tons

The Jaguars 8th annual food drive concluded following the team's game day collection on November 10th when the Jaguars played host to the Washington Redskins. Including donations from area Publix Super Markets that were involved in the drive, cash donations ($2,918) and cans of Chunky Soup that were donated by the Campbell's Soup Company, this years food drive collected over 12 tons (25,517 pounds) of non-perishable food items – enough for an estimated 38,000 meals.

Following the drive on November 13, members of the Jaguars volunteer wives group, JagNet, gathered at the food bank to begin sorting and packaging the donated food items.

Jaguars' players, wives and Jaguars cheerleaders, the Roar, appeared at area Publix Super Markets to raise awareness and support for this year's drive. Fans who donated five or more non-perishable food items received a special edition commemorative poster.

Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell and his wife, Stacy, appeared in a television PSA to support the drive while tight end Kyle Brady and his wife, Kristi, voiced the radio PSA. Players and wives who made in-store appearances included LB Joe Tuipala and wife Leah, LS/TE Joe Zelenka and wife Rebekah, and CB Kiwaukee Thomas.
