The Jaguars celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15), recognizing the rich cultural heritage and contributions of the Latino community around the NFL.
The month kicked off when the Jaguars announced their 2025 Latino Youth Honors nominees on Sept. 15. They were honored at the Jaguars Hispanic Heritage-themed game vs. the Texans on Sept. 21.
The NFL Latino Youth Honors, presented by Proctor and Gamble, recognize Latino student athletes across the United States for their academic and athletic excellence.
The student-athletes who will represent the Jaguars as the 2025 Latino Youth Honors Nominees are:
Diaris Morales, Choctawhatchee High School flag football
- Year/Graduation: Senior, 2026
- GPA: 3.8
- Heritage: Puerto Rican
- Position: QB
- Previous Season Stats: 60 passing TDs; 4,590 yards; 411 completions
Diaris exemplifies what it means to be a leader, competitor and role model — both on and off the field. As a freshman quarterback, she led a very young Choctawhatchee High School (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.) flag football team to the FHSAA State Championship game. She followed that year with a trip to the Final Four as a sophomore and led her team last season to another FHSAA State Championship game. She has earned all-state honors three years in a row.
Her drive for success extends beyond herself as she is committed to helping her team reach its goals. Diaris' work ethic is unmatched. She plays multiple sports in the same season while also helping at her family's Puerto Rican restaurant. She is a lieutenant in her school's ROTC program, demonstrating leadership and discipline beyond athletics. Over the last three and a half years, she has enriched her school not only with her athletic ability but also with her kindness and inclusivity, making everyone feel valued and supported.
Edward Jordan IV, Beachside High School football

Edward exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding student-athlete through his leadership, academic dedication, and service to others. As the Beachside High School (Ponte Vedra Beach) quarterback, Eddie leads with confidence, focus and integrity; qualities that raise the performance and morale of his teammates.
Off the field, he is deeply committed to mentoring younger athletes at incoming freshman practices, youth clinics and summer camps. Eddie connects easily with younger players, teaching fundamentals while modeling discipline, respect and perseverance as he positively shapes both their athletic and personal growth. Academically, Eddie is just as impressive, maintaining a 3.94 unweighted GPA while balancing the demands of athletics and leadership.
"The Jaguars are proud to recognize Diaris and Edward at the national level. These student-athletes are top of their class with bright futures, both on the field and in the classroom," said Adriel Rocha, Jaguars VP of community impact and football development.
In addition to the recognition of Latino Youth Honors, the Jaguars hosted several Hispanic Heritage Month events, including the annual SOMOS DUUUVAL Youth Camp hosted with Verizon at San Jose Elementary. Jaguars LB Dennis Gardeck, Jaxson de Ville and the ROAR spent the morning doing drills and participated in a question-and-answer session with over 150 students between 1st and 5th grade.
Verizon also teamed up with the Jaguars and Feeding Northeast Florida to host a food distribution at Englewood High School. Over 300 families received meal kits full of fresh produce, canned items and more. Jaguars Legend Arrelious Benn and the ROAR assisted with the distribution and passed out free Jaguars swag.
