JACKSONVILLE – Today, Nike and the Jacksonville Jaguars unveiled the team's new NFL Nike Elite 51 Uniform design for the 2013 NFL season - a completely integrated system of dress with an
aggressive, modern design honoring the team's military fan base and positioning the team for the future.

This design renaissance, developed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the NFL and Nike, centers around the concept of the American dream and realizing success through hard work, ingenuity, and leadership – ideals that Jaguars Owner Shahid Khan is working to instill throughout the entire organization. Like Nike's co-founder Bill Bowerman, Khan embodies a pioneering, innovative spirit while still staying true to his humble beginnings. Nike always starts by listening to the voice of the athlete, so too did Mr. Khan and the Jaguars organization
through their design approach.

The new head-to-toe black uniform features teal and gold accents, making a bold statement from top to bottom. Black represents the true characteristics of a jaguar -- a feared predator hunting with stealth precision. Claw marks featured across the shoulders, around the neckline and within the stripe pattern on the pant are
all placed in an aggressive forward facing position.

The Jaguars proudly salute their hard working military fan base with a patch placed on the front plane of the jersey, directly over the heart. The patch features a forward facing Jaguar head as well as the new JAGS wordmark.

"These uniforms balance our tradition with the future" said Jaguars Owner Shahid Khan. "The military-style badge on the front of the jersey speaks directly to the strong relationship we have with our hometown of Jacksonville. These new uniforms leave no doubt about our brand essence of being proud, bold and committed.
I believe our new look will energize and inspire both our players and fans. It's clearly a new era for the Jacksonville Jaguars."

The new helmet features a unique fade from gold to a matte black finish in the front – another symbolic forward-facing characteristic of the uniform. The team's logo, a bold Jaguar head, provides a strong anchor for the jersey, pant, helmet and glove.

"Our new all-black uniforms are sharp, fast and aggressive" said Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny. "When you put on your uniform, your entire mentality changes. You're representing your family, your team and your fans. Putting on the uniform makes you want to give it everything you have on Sunday."

Designed and engineered from the inside out, the NFL Nike Elite 51 uniform focuses on creating a system where the baselayer, padding, jersey and pant work in concert. Lightweight padding is also integrated directly into the crucial "hit zones" in the baselayer. New innovations include integrating Flywire technology into the neckline to reduce weight and provide lockdown fit over pads, increasing sleeve articulation for better range of motion, and integrating new four-way stretch fabrication to provide a streamlined shrink-wrap fit.

"Our goal is to help build better athletes by providing state-of-the-art-innovation combined with a deep knowledge and understanding of the team" said Todd Van Horne, Nike's VP and Creative Director for Football.

"The Jaguars NFL Nike Elite 51 uniform delivers everything an athlete needs eliminates what he doesn't, while pushing the limits on creativity and design. This new design truly embodies what it means to be a Jacksonville Jaguar."

Nike NFL players Paul Posluszny and Tyson Alualu were on hand with Jaguars Owner Shahid Khan and Nike Football VP and Creative Director Todd Van Horne in Jacksonville to unveil the new design. Also modeling the new uniforms were Eugene Monroe, Uche Nwaneri, and Cecil Shorts. Top members of the military were also on hand to accept a special version of the new black jersey printed with the words "STAND UNITED" printed on the back.

As the official uniform supplier of the NFL, Nike provides all on-field, baselayer, sideline and practice wear for all 32 teams. The Jaguars new fan jerseys are scheduled to be on sale on April 25th at nikestore.com, NFLShop.com and Jaguars.com, as well as broader retail locations including Nike stores beginning April 26th.
