The Jaguars have signed veteran free agent defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis and waived rookie running back Lavarus Giles (pictured), who had signed with the team as a rookie free agent on June 11.

Lewis, 24, spent the second half of the 2007 season on the Oakland Raiders practice squad. The 6-0, 304-pound defensive tackle was originally selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL draft out of Virginia Tech. The second-year pro played in four games as a rookie and recorded four solo tackles. He spent time with Seattle and Detroit in 2008.
