Jaguars 2025 Schedule Revealed: Key Matchups & Week-by-Week Reactions

Schedule Release - Instant Reactions

JACKSONVILLE – Senior writer John Oehser takes a week-by-week look at the Jaguars’ 2025 schedule, which was announced Wednesday night by the NFL.

WEEK 1 | SEPTEMBER 7

Carolina Panthers (5-12, 2024 third in NFC South) at EverBank Stadium, 1 p.m., FOX

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Carolina Panthers

RB Travis Etienne Jr. (1)
  • Breakdown: A little more than 30 years after the Jaguars and Panthers played in the 1995 Hall of Game in their inaugural season, they will open the '25 regular season in Jacksonville – marking the first time the Jaguars have opened the regular season at home since the 2020 COVID-19 season. This will mark the first game of the Jaguars' new era under Head Coach Liam Coen, General Manager James Gladstone and Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tony Boselli. This game on paper is critical for the Jaguars, with the six of the next seven games against teams that finished with winning records last season. The Panthers are entering their second season under Head Coach Dave Canales, taking a step forward after finishing with the league's worst record in 2023. The all-time series is tied 4-4 with the Jaguars leading 3-1 in Jacksonville. The Jaguars won the last meeting, 26-0, in Jacksonville in 2023.

WEEK 2 | SEPTEMBER 14

Cincinnati Bengals (9-8, 2024 third in AFC North) at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, 1 p.m., CBS

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals

OLB Josh Allen (41)
  • Breakdown: This is the Jaguars' first road game of the '25 season, and the first of a difficult stretch before a Week 8 bye. It also could mark the second matchup between Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow – the No. 1 overall selections in the 2021 and 2020 NFL Drafts, respectively. The Jaguars and Bengals have played twice since Lawrence's selection, but Burrow missed the 2023 meeting with an injury. The Bengals have missed the postseason the last two seasons under seventh-year head coach Zac Taylor, but they finished impressively last season and figure to enter the season as favorites to contend for the postseason in one of the NFL's best divisions. The Jaguars lead the series 13-12 and the Bengals are 8-5 against the Jaguars in Cincinnati. The Bengals won the last meeting in December 2023, 34-31, in overtime.

WEEK 3 | SEPTEMBER 21

San Francisco 49ers (6-11, 2024 fourth in NFC West) at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., 4:05 p.m., FOX

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Houston Texans

S Daniel Thomas (20)
  • Breakdown: This is a key early-season AFC South game, with the Texans having won the last two division titles after the Jaguars won it in 2022. The Texans have won the division both of their seasons with DeMeco Ryans as head coach and C.J. Stroud at quarterback, and many observers project Houston to become the first team to win three consecutive AFC South titles since the Indianapolis Colts won five consecutive South titles from 2003-2007. The Jaguars and Texans split the season series in 2022 and 2023, with the Texans sweeping the series last season by winning 24-20 in Houston and 23-20 in Jacksonville. The Texans lead the all-time series 31-15, 15-8 in Jacksonville.

Week 4 | September 28

San Francisco 49ers (6-11, 2024 fourth in NFC West) at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., 4:05 p.m., FOX

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. San Francisco 49ers

RB Tank Bigsby (4)
  • Breakdown: The 49ers sustained significant offseason personnel losses, but make no mistake: They're a front-line, well-coached organization under Head Coach Kyle Shanahan that hasn't had back-to-back losing seasons since 2017-2018. The Jaguars are 2-5 all-time against the 49ers, with the 49ers winning the last meeting – 34-3 in Jacksonville in 2023. The Jaguars are 0-2 all-time on the road against the 49ers.

WEEK 5 | OCTOBER

Kansas City Chiefs (15-2, 2024 first in AFC West) at EverBank Stadium, 8:15 p.m., ESPN/ABC.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Kansas City Chiefs

CB Jarrian Jones (22)
  • Breakdown: This is the Jaguars' lone prime-time game of the season – and their second game in two weeks against a 2024 division champion. The Chiefs are the NFL's model organization, never having a losing season in the last 12 seasons and winning the last nine AFC West titles. They have played in the last seven AFC Championship Games and five of the last six Super Bowls, winning three. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player (2018, 2022), a Pro Bowl selection from 2018-2023 and a three-time Super Bowl MVP (following the 2019, 2022 and 2023 seasons). The Chiefs lead the series 10-6 and the Jaguars are 2-3 against the Chiefs in Jacksonville. The Chiefs won the last meeting, 17-9, in Jacksonville in 2023.

WEEK 6 | OCTOBER 12

Seattle Seahawks (10-7, 2024 second in NFC West) at EverBank Stadium, 1 p.m., FOX

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Seattle Seahawks

October 31st, 2021
  • Breakdown: This marks the first of two consecutive NFC West opponents for the Jaguars leading into a Week 8 bye. The Seahawks are perennial contenders, with one losing season since 2011, and they transitioned last season from longtime Head Coach Pete Carroll with a 10-7 record in Mike Macdonald's first season as head coach. The Seahawks lead the series 6-3 and won the last meeting, 31-7 in Jacksonville in 2021. The Jaguars are 3-2 all-time against the Seahawks in Jacksonville.

WEEK 7 | OCTOBER 19

Los Angeles Rams (10-7, 2024 first in NFC West) at Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom, 9:30 a.m., NFL Network

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Los Angeles Rams

December 5th, 2022
  • Breakdown: This is an intriguing matchup, particularly from the Jaguars' perspective – with Jaguars' new leadership having strong ties to the Rams, one of the NFL's most-consistent organizations in recent seasons. Gladstone spent his first nine NFL seasons with the Rams and Coen spent 2018-2020 as an assistant with the Rams under Head Coach Sean McVay before spending 2022 as the Rams' offensive coordinator. The Rams are 5-1 all-time against the Jaguars and won the last meeting, 31-7, in Los Angeles in 2021. The Jaguars are 7-6 all-time in London, 5-5 at Wembley Stadium.

WEEK 8 | BYE

WEEK 9 | NOVEMBER 2

Las Vegas Raiders (4-13, 2024 fourth in AFC West) at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., 4:05 p.m., FOX

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Las Vegas Raiders

LB Foyesade Oluokun (23)
  • Breakdown: This marks the Jaguars' second trip to Vegas in two seasons – with last season's meeting a listless, end-of-season matchup between two teams long since out of the postseason. Both teams changed coaches and reset the organization in the offseason, with former Seattle Seahawks/New England Patriots/New York Jets Head Coach Pete Carroll taking over as head coach and longtime Tampa Bay Buccaneers executive Dave Spytek taking over as general manger. The Jaguars lead the series 6-5 and are 4-3 on the road against the Raiders with the Raiders winning last season, 19-14.

WEEK 10 | NOVEMBER 9

Houston Texans (10-7, 2024 first in AFC South) at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, 1 p.m., CBS

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Houston Texans

WR Brian Thomas Jr. (7)
  • Breakdown: This is the Jaguars' second game of the season against the Texans, and it comes before the Jaguars will have played either of their other two AFC South rival – the Tennessee Titans and Colts. The Jaguars are 7-16 all-time in Houston, winning there in 2022 and 2023.

WEEK 11 | NOVEMBER 16

Los Angeles Chargers (11-6, 2024 second in AFC West) at EverBank Stadium, 1 p.m., CBS

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Los Angeles Chargers

January 14, 2023
  • Breakdown: This is the Jaguars' only home game in the first five weeks after the bye – and the opponent is a team many believe can challenge perennial division champion Kansas City for the AFC West title. The Chargers made the postseason as a strong wild-card team in Jim Harbaugh's first season as head coach in 2024, and quarterback Justin Herbert continues to develop as one of the AFC's top quarterbacks. The Chargers lead the series 9-5 with the Jaguars winning the last meeting, 31-30, in an AFC Wild Card Playoff game following the 2022 season. The Jaguars are 1-5 all-time on the road against the Chargers.

WEEK 12 | NOVEMBER 23

Arizona Cardinals (8-9, 2024 third in NFC West) at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., 4:05 p.m., CBS

JACKSONVILLE, FL - September 26, 2021 - The Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Arizona Cardinals for Week 3 at TIAA Bank Field. The Jaguars lost the game, 19-31.
  • Breakdown: This is the fourth game of the season for the Jaguars against a team with a losing record in 2024, but the Cardinals were competitive last season before losing five of their final seven games. This will be the Cardinals' third season under Head Coach Jonathan Gannon, with Kyler Murray entering his seventh season as the starting quarterback. The Cardinals lead the series, 4-2, with the teams splitting two games in Arizona. The Cardinals won the most recent meeting, 31-19, in Jacksonville in 2021.

WEEK 13 | NOVEMBER 30

Tennessee Titans (3-14, 2024 fourth in AFC South) at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., 1 p.m., CBS

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans

S Daniel Thomas (20)
  • Breakdown: This ends a tricky post-bye stretch for the Jaguars with their fourth road game in five weeks – and it begins a stretch of four AFC South games in the final six weeks of the regular season. The game also could feature the first matchup between two No. 1 overall selected quarterbacks – Lawrence (2021) and Titans quarterback Cam Ward (2025) – with the Titans finishing with the NFL's worst record last season in Brian Callahan's first season as head coach. The Titans lead the series 35-26 and lead the series in Nashville, 18-11. The Jaguars have won five of the last six meetings and swept the series in 2022 and 2024.

WEEK 14 | DECEMBER 7

Indianapolis Colts (8-9, 2024 second in AFC South) at EverBank Stadium, 1 p.m., CBS

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts

WR Brian Thomas Jr. (7)
  • Breakdown: The Colts haven't won in Jacksonville since 2014 – a span in which the Colts have had four winning records and two playoff appearances. They enter their third season under Head Coach Shane Steichen and have missed the postseason the last four seasons. Third-year quarterback Anthony Richardson threw eight touchdowns with 12 interceptions last season, with the Colts signing former New York Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones in the offseason. The Colts lead the series 28-20 and beat the Jaguars, 26-23, in overtime in the 2024 regular-season finale. The Jaguars have won 10 consecutive home games in the series, with nine of those games in Jacksonville.

WEEK 15 | DECEMBER 14

New York Jets (5-12, 2024 third in AFC East) at EverBank Stadium, 1 p.m., CBS

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets

DT DaVon Hamilton (52)
  • Breakdown: The Jaguars' 2025 schedule doesn't get easy late, but it does provide opportunities against teams that struggled last season. The Jets haven't had a winning record since 2015 and last made the postseason in 2010, resetting the organization this offseason by hiring former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as head coach and former Denver Broncos personnel executive Darren Mougey as general manager. The all-time series is tied 9-9 and the Jaguars are 5-2 at home in the series. The Jets won the 2024 meeting, 32-25, in Jacksonville.

WEEK 16 | DECEMBER 21

Denver Broncos (10-7, 2024 third in AFC West) at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo., 4:05 p.m., FOX

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Denver Broncos

October 29, 2022
  • Breakdown: This stands out as possibly the toughest game in an otherwise manageable late-season stretch. The Broncos improved significantly last season in Sean Payton's second season as head coach, with Broncos quarterback Bo Nix showing signs of developing into a franchise quarterback. This is the Jaguars' last non-AFC South game before closing the season at Indianapolis and home against Tennessee. The Jaguars are 7-8 all-time against the Broncos and the series is tied 4-4 in Denver. The Broncos won the last meeting, 21-17, at Wembley Stadium in London in 2022.

WEEK 17 | DECEMBER 28

Indianapolis Colts (8-9, 2024 second in AFC South) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., 1 p.m., FOX

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts

WR Parker Washington (11)
  • Breakdown: This is the second matchup between these AFC South rivals in four weeks and the first of what could be two key back-to-back division games to end the season for the Jaguars. The Colts are 18-6 all-time against the Jaguars in Indianapolis.

WEEK 18 | TBD

Tennessee Titans (3-14, 2024 fourth in AFC South) at EverBank Stadium, TBD, TBD

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans

DE Josh Hines-Allen (41)
  • Breakdown: This marks the third time in the last four seasons the Jaguars have played the Titans in the regular-season finale. The Jaguars beat the Titans, 20-16, in the 2022 regular-season finale Jacksonville to clinch the 2022 AFC South title. They lost to the Titans, 28-20, in Nashville in the 2023 regular-season finale – a game that eliminated the Jaguars from the postseason. The Jaguars are 11-19 on the road against the Titans.
