JACKSONVILLE – Another day, another honor.

It has been that sort of week – and 2025 season – for Jaguars fourth-year linebacker Devin Lloyd.

Lloyd on Thursday was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month for the Jaguars' turnover-centric defense, an honor that came one day after he was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

"It means a lot," Lloyd said. "It really only happens because we're winning. We're playing as a team. I look at it as a team award. It's definitely a special honor, but nobody's going to look back and remember what you did in September.

"It's about October, November, December, January, February … what are you going to do in those months?"

Lloyd, the No. 27 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, turned in one of his best career games this past week in a 26-21 victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. He registered 2 interceptions with 8 tackles in that game, becoming the first linebacker in franchise history with 2 interceptions in a game.

"I'm excited for him," Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen said. "I know he's going to continue to play at a high level and I want him to continue to do that. He puts the work in every single day."

Lloyd for the season leads the NFL with 3 interceptions and 4 takeaways, with the 4 takeaways tying the franchise record for most through four games in a season.

Lloyd is the first Jaguars player named AFC Defensive Player of the Month since linebacker Mike Peterson in 2005.
