What to Know and Where to Watch NFL Honors: Coen, Lawrence Finalists

JACKSONVILLE – A high-profile week for the Jaguars continues.

Liam Coen and Trevor Lawrence are finalists for three of the NFL's most-prestigious honors – honors that will be announced Thursday night in San Francisco, capping a Super Bowl/Pro Bowl week in which the Jaguars were heavily involved in multiple postseason honors.

Coen is a finalist for AP Coach of the Year, with Lawrence a finalist for the AP NFL Most Valuable player and AP Comeback Player of the Year.

No Jaguars player or coach ever has won Coach of the Year, MVP or Comeback Player of the Year, with Coen and Lawrence among five finalists for the respective awards.

The finalists for the three awards:

  • MVP: Lawrence; Christian McCaffrey, running back, San Francisco 49ers; Matthew Stafford, quarterback, Los Angeles Rams; Drake Maye, quarterback, New England Patriots; Josh Allen, quarterback, Buffalo Bills.
  • Coach of the Year: Coen; Mike Vrabel, New England Patriots; Ben Johnson, Chicago Bears; Mike MacDonald, Seattle Seahawks; Kyle Shanahan, San Francisco 49ers.
  • Comeback Player of the Year: Lawrence; McCaffrey; Stefon Diggs, wide receiver, New England Patriots; Aidan Hutchinson, defensive end, Detroit Lions; Dak Prescott, quarterback, Dallas Cowboys.

The winners will be announced at the 15th annual NFL Honors on Thursday, February 5. Jon Hamm will host the ceremony, which will air live on NBC and NFL Network from the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco at 9 p.m.

The NFL Honors Red Carpet Show will air NFL Network at 8 p.m. ET, with the honors held annually the week of the Super Bowl as part of the festivities surrounding the game. Super Bowl LX will be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Cal., Sunday.

Other AP honors to be announced Thursday: Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year.

The NFL also will honor the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year, as well as announcing the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class and the new "Protector of the Year" award. Punter Logan Cooke was the Jaguars' Club Winner for Walter Payton Man of the Year.

Coen in his first season with the franchise led the Jaguars to a 13-4 record and the AFC South title in 2025 one season after they finished 4-13. He became the first rookie head coach in NFL history to win 12-plus games after taking over a team with four or fewer victories the season prior.

Lawrence, after missing seven games in 2024 and undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, finished third in the NFL in total touchdowns in 2025 (38), fifth in passing touchdowns (29), sixth in passing yards (4,007) and tied for second in rushing touchdowns (nine) among NFL quarterbacks. His 38 total touchdowns were a single-season franchise record.

Linebacker Devin Lloyd and long snapper Ross Matiscik participated in this week's 2026 Pro Bowl Games, with Lloyd making his first career appearance in the event and Matiscik making a third consecutive appearance.

The Pro Bowl Games were held Tuesday at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, marking the first time the event had been held as part of Super Bowl week.
