Mock Draft Tracker 7.0: Wide Receivers, Corners and Linemen All Big Hits for Number 17

022624 Mock Draft 7.0

JACKSONVILLE – The names stayed familiar with a major step in the NFL offseason arriving.

This is the seventh 2024 jaguars.com mock draft tracker – and it comes as the league prepares for the '24 NFL Scouting Combine, which will be held this week in Indianapolis, Ind. And for the Jaguars, this tracker feels like previous versions:

A heavy emphasis on wide receiver, cornerback and the lines – with the week's most popular projection Brian Thomas, a wide receiver from Louisiana State who has been projected often this offseason at No. 17 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Also remaining a popular projection: Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson, with multiple analysts mocking him to the Jaguars in Round 1.

"Jackson Powers-Johnson is arguably the best interior offensive lineman in this class and will be a high-end starting center the minute he steps on the field," Brentley Weismann of the Draft Network wrote.

Three analysts projected three different cornerbacks -- Nate Wiggins of Clemson, Quinyon Mitchell of Toledo and Cooper DeJean of Iowa – to the Jaguars at No. 17 overall.

"Nate Wiggins is a perfect athlete to fit in Jacksonville's new scheme, with the speed, fluidity, and competitiveness to emerge as a lockdown player on the perimeter," A.J. Schulte of Pro Football Network wrote, with Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports writing of DeJean: "In the passing game, he looks more comfortable in zone than man, but he somehow ends up around the ball anyway."
