This is the ninth jaguars.com 2024 mock draft tracker – with wide receiver and cornerback remaining popular projections for the Jaguars at No. 17 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The most-projected player to the Jaguars this week? Brian Thomas Jr., a wide receiver from Louisiana State University who has been projected often to the Jaguars in Round 1 of this year's draft and who was the Jaguars' choice by five analysts in this week's tracker.
"The team needs a big, playmaking receiver; Thomas has shown as much on the field then tested incredibly well during combine workouts," prominent long-time NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline wrote.
Also projected often to the Jaguars this week: Cornerback, with three players at the position – Quinyon Mitchell of Toledo, Terrion Arnold of Alabama and Nate Wiggins of Clemson – mocked to the Jaguars at No. 17 by multiple analysts this week.
"Arnold is an in-your-face coverage talent with high football character and the kind of competitive fire Jaguars coaches will love," Lance Zierlein of NFL.com wrote, with Chris Trapasso of CBS writing of Mitchell, "This is a big, electric athlete who had over 40 pass breakups in college."
The Draft Network's Damian Parson wrote of Mitchell: "A true CB1 to pair with this growing pass rush in Duval County sounds like a dream scenario."
Added CBS's Tom Fornelli of Wiggins, "His speed and length are crucial to his game, and he plays with a high motor."
Other players projected to the Jaguars at No. 17 this week: Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims, Florida State edge Jared Verse, Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham and Illinois defensive lineman Jer'Zhan Newton.
