FA-16x9-FATUKASI

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars were focused this offseason on improving on the defensive interior.

They focused on that in a big way early in free agency.

Foley Fatukasi, a defensive tackle considered a top interior run defender who played the last four seasons for the New York Jets, has agreed to terms to sign with the Jaguars an unrestricted free agent. The Jaguars announced the agreement Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m., the start of the 2022 NFL League Year.

Fatukasi, 27, a sixth-round selection by the Jets in the 2018 NFL Draft, has started 23 games in four seasons. He emerged as a full-time starter this past season, starting all 17 regular-season games and registering 46 tackles with five tackles for loss and six quarterback hits.

Fatukasi started eight games in 2020, playing in 14 games the previous season after playing one as a rookie in 2018. He has 18 career tackles for loss and 14 quarterback hits with three sacks in four seasons.

The Jaguars also on Wednesday announced they have agreed to terms with six other unrestricted free agents: Wide receiver Christian Kirk, wide receiver Zay Jones, offensive lineman Brandon Scherff, linebacker Foye Oluokun, tight end Evan Engram and cornerback Darious Williams.
