Official: Key signs

JACKSONVILLE – The free-agency focus turned to the defensive front Wednesday.

Arden Key, a fifth-year veteran defensive end who played with the San Francisco 49ers last season, has signed with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent. The Jaguars announced the signing on Wednesday morning.

Key, 25, originally a third-round selection by the Oakland Raiders in the 2018 NFL Draft, has registered 71 tackles, 9.5 sacks and three passes defensed in 54 career games. He spent three seasons with the Raiders, then registered a career-high 6.5 sacks in his lone season with the 49ers in 2021.

The Jaguars also since the March 16 start of the NFL's 2022 League Year have signed eight other unrestricted free agents: Wide receiver Christian Kirk, offensive lineman Brandon Scherff, linebacker Foye Oluokun and defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi, wide receiver Zay Jones, tight end Evan Engram, cornerback Darious Williams and cornerback Xavier Crawford.
