Ogden motivates students

On February 27, Jaguars offensive lineman Marques Ogden and several athletes from Edward Waters College gave an uplifting and encouraging talk to the students of Carter G. Woodson Elementary School in Jacksonville.

In preparation for taking the FCAT exam, the school held a pep rally for the students. The program began with a welcome from the principal, followed by a cheer from the school's cheerleaders, and ended with the students receiving a word from the athletes.

"I want you all to do a good job on the test," said Ogden. "I know you will perform and do your very best."

Marques Ogden, a rookie from Howard University, is one of six Jaguars players being allocated overseas to play in NFL Europe this spring. Marques joins linebackers Jimmy McClain, Hakim Akbar and Curtis Randall, defensive back Chris Brown, and guard Konrad Dean. Marques, Hakim, & Chris spent time on the Jaguars' active roster during the 2003 season.
