The sixth annual Jaguars Food Drive concluded last Sunday with more than 26,500 pounds of food and over $1,800 in cash donations collected at ALLTEL Stadium. Donations received during the last 14 days by area Winn-Dixie food stores brought the total food donation to 28,060 pounds - enough for approximately 18,707 meals.
The drive, which started November 2 at area Winn-Dixie stores, was supported by Jaguars' player appearances at selected stores. Fans were encouraged to donate five or more items to receive a commemorative Jaguars poster and player autograph.
All donations will be distributed by LSS Second Harvest Food Bank to more that 350 non-profit agencies in northeast Florida.
