FA-16x9-KIRK

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars addressed offensive skill early in free agency.

And they did so in a major way.

Christian Kirk, one of the top wide receivers in the 2022 NFL free-agent market who spent his first four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, has agreed to terms to sign with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent. The Jaguars announced the agreement Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m., the beginning of the 2022 NFL League Year.

Kirk, a second-round selection by the Cardinals in the 2018 NFL Draft, started 41 of 56 games for Arizona over four seasons. He caught a career-high 77 passes for a career-high 982 yards and five touchdowns this past season.

Kirk, 25, who played collegiately at Texas A&M, has 236 career receptions for 2,902 yards and 17 touchdowns.

The Jaguars now have eight wide receivers on the roster: Kirk, Zay Jones, Marvin Jones Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr., returner/receiver Jamal Agnew, Jeff Cotton Jr., Josh Hammond and Tim Jones. Former Jaguars wide receivers DJ Chark Jr., Laquon Treadwell and Tavon Austin became unrestricted free agents Wednesday.

Jones led the Jaguars with 73 receptions for 832 yards and four touchdowns last season. Shenault caught 63 passes for 619 yards and no touchdowns. Agnew caught 24 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown.

The Jaguars also on Wednesday announced they have agreed to terms with six other unrestricted free agents: Offensive guard Brandon Scherff, wide receiver Zay Jones, linebacker Foye Oluokun, defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi, tight end Evan Engram and cornerback Darious Williams.
