JACKSONVILLEDyami Brown likes this offense, and he likes his role in it.

Brown is versatile and fast, a key part of what increasingly seems to be a strong group of Jaguars wide receivers. He has the potential to be a major factor in the 2025 Jaguars offense, and however that happens is fine with him.

"Any way to get the ball is something I would like," he said.

Brown, who signed with the Jaguars in March as an unrestricted free agent, spoke to the media following Day 18 of Jaguars 2025 Training Camp practice at the Miller Electric Center Wednesday morning. He spoke of his role in first-year Head Coach Liam Coen's versatile offense, with offensive coordinator Grant Udinski on Wednesday lauding the fifth-year veteran's transition to a new scheme.

"It goes back to the way he works and the way he's tried to embrace his role," Udinski said.

Udinski particularly praised Brown's willingness to adjust in the running game, with Coen's system emphasizing receivers blocking effectively in the run.

Udinski on Wednesday said Brown does "a lot of dirty-work blocking."

"He's a guy you're asking to do things that he hasn't done in the past," Udinski said. "It's not always just some deep shots or ball-in-hand-type plays. He has a pretty wide route tree. It's that balance and that flexibility that he provides.

"He is asked to do a lot of different things that helps us stay balanced as an offense and it gives him opportunities in the pass game because the more we can be a legitimate run threat with him in the game in different alignments and positions, the more opportunities he will have in the pass game."

Said Brown, "We want the backs to do good as well. We want to be all together as one, and unselfishly at the same time. We want to win together and ways for us to win are to start blocking."

Brown's versatility has been evident throughout '25 camp and preseason. He has been consistently productive through 18 practices at receiver, and he also has proven to be a potent option running on jet sweeps.

Brown's seven-yard run on fourth-and-1 on the starters' lone drive in a Preseason Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers extended the drive and led to a 41-yard field goal by kicker Cam Little that capped the opening possession.

"It's good to get those things because at this point, I'm more than just a pass catcher," Brown said. "I'm able to make things happen, just find ways to get the ball. It's not just me getting a jet sweep.

"A lot of us can get those things in order for us to move the ball down the field."

Brown, originally a third-round selection by Washington in the 2021 NFL Draft, emerged late in his final season with the Commanders. He caught 30 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown in the 2024 regular season before catching 14 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown in three postseason games.

He is expected to play a key role with the Jaguars this season opposite Pro Bowl wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., with rookie Travis Hunter and third-year veteran Parker Washington forming what is becoming one of the team's best, deepest positions.

"I just want to take that next step forward – keep getting better, the one percent each day," Brown said. "Just focus on the same details that I need to work on, stay fundamentally sound. Don't try to do too much or get out of the way of things. I just want to go out there and compete and be the best version of me."

Added Brown of the receivers group, "We can be great. All we have to do is go out there and focus every day, continue to do the things that we need to do fundamentally, and don't let up."

QUOTABLE

Defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile after the first-team defense allowed 21 yards and one first down on two series in a 17-17 tie with the New Orleans Saints in a Preseason Week 2 game this past Sunday:

"There's a good camaraderie, and I think that does show up with communication. Guys right now are doing a good job – or a better job – of communicating, from where we were earlier in the summer and they're starting to know exactly what they're doing. They're playing with a little bit more anticipation and in my opinion, you either play with anticipation or anxiety. I think the guys are starting to play with a little bit more anticipation, and that's how big plays are made."
