The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed DT DaVon Hamilton to a contract extension, the team announced today.

"DaVon is an integral part of our team," said General Manager Trent Baalke. "Retaining our homegrown players is a key component to our organizational philosophy. He is coming off his best season since being drafted in 2020 and we are confident that his best football lies ahead. He is a great representative of the Jaguars both on and off the field and we are excited for his future in Jacksonville."

Hamilton was originally drafted by the Jaguars in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft and has appeared in 44 games with Jacksonville, making 28 starts. In 2022, Hamilton appeared in all 17 regular season games (14 starts) and posted career highs in tackles (56), tackles for loss (five) and sacks (2.5). He also started both postseason games for Jacksonville and totaled eight tackles and two passes defensed.

The Pickerington, Ohio native attended Ohio State from 2015-19 and appeared in 54 games with the Buckeyes.
