JACKSONVILLE – Jaguars 2025 Training Camp continued Sunday.
It was the fourth day of the first training camp under Head Coach Liam Coen, featuring a two-hour practice in helmets and "spiders" at the Miller Electric Center. Each day throughout camp, members of Jaguars Media – senior writer John Oehser, senior reporter/editor J.P. Shadrick and team reporter Kainani Stevens – will share an observation.
Here are Sunday's "campservations:"
John Oehser, Jaguars Senior Writer…
- Sunday was a good day for big names at '25 Jaguars training camp, with a dash of star power and a dose of spectacular highlighting the final "ramp-up" day. Worried about wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. after a kind-of frustrating Friday? No one around the Jaguars shared that concern, and the second-year Pro Bowl receiver had a strong session Sunday morning – highlighted by an athletic touchdown reception in the back of the end zone late in practice in seven-on-seven work. Wanting to see the defensive prowess of rookie wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter? Sunday featured that, too, with the No. 2 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft working exclusively on defense for a second consecutive practice and registering three pass breakups – one each wile defending Thomas, wide receiver Austin Trammell and rookie receiver Joshua Cephus. The intensity and importance of practice will increase Monday with '25 camp's first padded practice, and what is expected to be an intense competition along the offensive line really begins now. But Sunday had intensity of its own as the Jaguars ended "ramp-up" period on a high, entertaining note.
J.P. Shadrick, Jaguars Senior Reporter/Editor …
- The Jaguars wrapped up the ramp-up period with a Sunday practice in spiders. Hunter played corner again, wrapping up practice with a near interception on the final play, breaking on a ball near the sideline that would have gone the distance the other way. Everyone is looking forward to see how the rotation of practice days goes for him moving forward, as he has had two days on offense and two on defense so far. The Jaguars put on pads Monday and Tuesday, and defensive end Josh Hines-Allen after practice said he's looking forward to getting more physical and continuing to get work in with his teammates while making sure everyone practices in control and does not get hurt. Training camp gets real Monday.

- The defense once again shined with Hunter practicing for a second consecutive day on that side of the ball. Hunter looked impressive guarding Thomas and had some PBUs with a near interception at the end of practice. The defensive line pressure was solid throughout team drills and forced quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the other quarterbacks to make quick throws. After practice Hines-Allen lauded his teammate DaVon Hamilton, calling him "the best nose tackle in the game right now." The confidence exuding from the defense this year is palpable, but we'll get to see for real what that translates to when the pads go on Monday.
