JACKSONVILLE – Jaguars 2025 Training Camp continued Monday.
It was the 13th day of the first training camp under Head Coach Liam Coen, featuring about a 90-minute practice in helmets and shorts at the Miller Electric Center. Each day throughout camp, members of Jaguars Media – senior writer John Oehser, senior reporter/editor J.P. Shadrick and team reporter Kainani Stevens – will share an observation.
Here are Monday's "campservations:"

- There was some unpacking and looking forward going on around Jaguars training camp on Day 13, with the Jaguars practicing comparatively light and short two days after a 31-25 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the ’25 preseason opener at EverBank Stadium. Head Coach Liam Coen's tone Monday not unexpectedly remained true to his postgame tone – that the penalties that defined the loss, and that helped stall the first-team offense's lone drive, must be eliminated. Coen on Monday, too, expressed disappointment with alignment and assignment during the first-team defense's lone possession – a too-easy touchdown drive that gave the Steelers a 7-3 lead. Monday's practice therefore featured a 40-play, extended alignment/assignment period.
"They definitely caught us with some tempo," defensive end Travon Walker said of Saturday's first drive. "That came into play at practice today. I feel like we did a great job at practice today and watched the film earlier. Now we just have to continuously get on the ball, be ready and be set – and that way we won't get caught off the ball like that."
- We're getting a feel for Coen as his first Jaguars training camp continues, and the thought here is we're learning that he's going to remain very transparent with the public/media when he feels there are issues – and that he's not going to let those issues go unaddressed.

- The Jaguars got back to the practice field Monday in helmets only for the first on-field work since Saturday night's preseason debut. It felt like Coen had some frustration after seeing the game tape, and he said after practice Monday that was about alignment, assignment and communication. He also referenced that the coaches can only go so far on the field, but also claimed responsibility for a few play calls that could have put players in a better situation. This is a refreshing approach, and everyone has a share of the blame if a performance is not up to par. This should help the team move forward in a positive manner.

- There was a sense of frustration from Coen on Monday after watching the video from Saturday's preseason opener. Penalties, miscommunications and misalignment were just a few of the issues the Jags will be focusing on correcting this week. It looks to be a loaded practice schedule, with a scrimmage slated for Thursday. Coen said he was unsure how much his starters will play in Preseason Week 2 against the New Orleans Saint Sunday, and that puts even more importance on quality practice reps in the days ahead. Tyson Campbell was not at practice and Coen described the veteran cornerback as day-to-day. This is especially problematic considering injuries the last two seasons have kept Campbell off the field frequently. The secondary is already shorthanded as Montaric Brown and Caleb Ransaw are both dealing with lower body injuries.
