JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars on Wednesday practiced at the Miller Electric Center.
The Jaguars (6-4) will play the Arizona Cardinals (3-7) at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., Sunday in a 2025 Week 12 game. A look at Wednesday around the Jaguars – with Head Coach Liam Coen speaking to the media before practice and quarterback Trevor Lawrence speaking to the media after practice:
Lawrence's high praise for wide receiver Jakobi Meyers continues.
Meyers, a seven-year veteran, was acquired in a Week 10 trade with the Las Vegas Raiders with the idea he could quickly be a reliable – and trusted – target for Lawrence. He has been just that, catching 8 passes for 105 yards in 2 games – including 5 receptions for 64 yards in a victory over the Los Angeles Chargers this past Sunday.
He led the team in targets (6), receptions and receiving yards against the Chargers.
"He has done an awesome job," Lawrence said of Meyers. "The way he runs and moves, that's something I noticed right when he got here. I've seen him play a lot, too, but I like throwing to him. He's just an easy guy to throw to from a quarterback perspective.
"Just the way he moves, it seems very clear what he is going to do. That's something I really like. Then, he is smart too. He has picked up the offense really quickly for it being a pretty complicated offense and having to come in and play three, four days after getting here. And now he's played a few games with us, and he's done an awesome job.
"I really give a lot of credit to him." …
Lawrence on Wednesday reiterated what he said following Sunday's victory – that wearing a wristband with select play calls helped the offense get to the line of scrimmage more quickly.
Lawrence played without a wristband in the first nine games of the season after wearing one in his first four seasons.

"There were some positives that came from it for sure," Lawrence said, noting that the Jaguars had no pre-snap penalties Sunday after struggling at times with them in the first nine games. "You look at the clean operation we had on offense. I don't think it's just because of that – there are more moving parts – but I don't think you can deny that that probably helped. We played really clean, didn't have any penalties, which is something that we've wanted to improve on all season long. So that was a positive." …
Added Lawrence, "It's not a huge deal. Either way, really, we have the same game plan. We're going to go run the plays. If it helps us get out a little bit sooner of the huddle and have some more time to operate, I think I'm all for it." …
The Jaguars as they have done on West Coast trips this season will leave for Arizona Saturday. The Jaguars are 2-0 traveling West this season with road victories over the San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders.
"We'll do our meetings here Saturday, so when we get out there we'll only have a few things to do at night," Coen said. "We've handled it well thus far in terms of the travel West. Hopefully, we can continue to have the same mindset and mentality going into it.
"It (Arizona) is a team I know is going to be fighting. It's a great opportunity for us to again go on the road together as a team, prepare the right way." …
The Jaguars on Wednesday released the first of three injury reports for the week, with starting defensive end Travon Walker (knee) and linebacker Yasir Abdullah (finger) missing practice. Walker sustained his injury in the second quarter against the Chargers.
The Jaguars also listed the following 12 players as practicing limited Wednesday:
- Starting running back Travis Etienne Jr. (shoulder)
- Running back Bhayshul Tuten (ankle)
- Starting wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle)
- Starting tight end Brenton Strange (hip)
- Tight end Hunter Long (hip/knee)
- Starting right tackle Anton Harrison (knee/ankle)
- Starting right guard Patrick Mekari (knee)
- Rookie guard Wyatt Milum (knee)
- Linebacker Dennis Gardeck (chest)
- Cornerback Jarrian Jones (quadriceps)
- Starting cornerback/nickelback Jourdan Lewis (neck)
- Starting cornerback Greg Newsome II (ankle)
- Starting safety Andrew Wingard (back)
- Starting defensive tackle Arik Armstead (illness)
Thomas, Harrison, Long and Lewis did not play against the Chargers, with Newsome leaving the Chargers game and not returning. Strange is on injured reserve, with his window to return now open.
"I'm always optimistic, but look, I really don't know," Coen said of injured players potentially returning Sunday. "You were optimistic on some of them last week and it didn't end up working out.
"That was obviously frustrating for those guys specifically and for us when you're trying to continue to get your guys out there, but I thought guys stepped up as well in their places. It is definitely next man up. It has to be a next man up mentality and ultimately, hopefully we get these guys back." …
