JACKSONVILLE – Liam Coen liked a lot of what he saw.

The Jaguars held a 90-minute mock game – the "Teal and White" scrimmage – at the Miller Electric Center on Day 8 of 2026 Training Camp Friday, with the second-year head coach discussing what he saw after the padded session.

"It was more getting some guys reps," Coen said Friday. "We would have liked to see us execute some of the screens better, which is an area that we're continuously trying to work on. I thought we had some good runs. I thought the guys ran hard."

Coen on rookies in their first game-like NFL setting: "They handled everything pregame and through that fine. As we go, we have to continue to get in shape. The guys felt maybe that catch up on him and creep up on them a little bit.

"I was pleased with some of the younger guys in getting some of those reps."

With the mock game featuring extensive 11-on-11 work, the run game was an emphasis, with running backs Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez Jr. each producing several chunk gains.

"We've been able to move the line of scrimmage a little bit [since beginning padded work early in the week], and the backs are getting some opportunities," Coen said.

Key to those efforts: An offensive line that again was a focus Friday. Anton Harrison remained at left tackle, with second-year offensive linemen Wyatt Milum and Jonah Monheim working extensively.

"We have to clean up on some stuff, but overall I felt like it was a good day," Milum said. "It's fun to play in front of the fans and compete. It was a good day."

It was also a good day for Parker Washington -- again. The fourth-year receiver continued his strong camp with two third-down receptions and a touchdown catch from starter Trevor Lawrence, who also threw touchdowns to wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. and running back LeQuint Allen Jr.

"He's a consistent dude," Coen said of Washington. "You kind of know throughout the course of a practice that it's like, 'OK, you want to get some other guys some work too, because you know it's going to come [for Washington].'

"Like that completion … the connection's going to come throughout the course of a day. It allows you to know that you can maybe spread the ball around a little bit, knowing that when you come back to him, there's likely to be a completion between the two of those guys."

Standing out defensively were a pair of young pass-rushers.

Second-year veteran edge B.J. Green II, with an expanded chance Friday with veteran Josh Hines-Allen on a rest day, recorded multiple sacks and a tackle for loss against the run. Seventh-round rookie edge Zach Durfee continued his upward trajectory with an early sack of Lawrence after making a similar play earlier this week.

"They've continued to do that throughout the course of the last few practices, and Durf had a good rush the other day, backed up," Coen said. "It would've been a 99-yard touchdown; it ended up being probably a safety. So, he's showing up.

"B.J.'s continued to show up in both the run and the pass. So, I've been pleased with those guys."

PLAY OF THE DAY

The standout play of practice came from cornerback Montaric Brown. Brown has had several tight-coverage plays in camp, and he recorded his first interception of training camp with a leaping interception off backup quarterback Nick Mullens on a deep pass to running back J'Mari Taylor. Brown showed exceptional vertical ability and ball skills to secure the takeaway.

STANDING OUT

• Also catching touchdown passes from Lawrence Friday: Allen after a scramble drill and Thomas during a two-minute drill at the end of practice.
• Nose tackle DaVon Hamilton had some dominant repetitions as a run defender, including a run stuff for no yards on the first play of the practice for the starting defense.
• Rookie safety Jalen Huskey forced and recovered a fumble on wide receiver Chandler Brayboy.

INJURY WATCH

Offensive lineman Walker Little left practice early, with Milum working extensively at tackle and Monheim working extensively at guard afterward. "Wherever the team needs me, that's where I'm going to go play," Milum said. Second-year linebacker Jack Kiser also remained out of practice after sustaining a knee injury in Day 1 practice. Left tackle Cole Van Lanen (knee) and offensive lineman Garrett DiGiorgio (foot) remain on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start camp, with guard Patrick Mekari remaining out of team drills and guard Emmanuel Pregnon not in team drills Friday. Hines-Allen had a veteran's day off.
