Wide Receiver Room Elevates: Jacksonville Jaguars Trade for WR Jakobi Meyers

16x9-MEYERS-TRADE

JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars made a move at receiver Tuesday.

The Jaguars on Tuesday acquired wide receiver Jakobi Meyers in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, addressing a position affected by injury in recent weeks.

Meyers, 28, a seven-year NFL veteran, played 2023 and 2024 with the Raiders – and he has 33 receptions for 352 yards and no touchdowns in seven games this season. The Jaguars sent fourth- and sixth-round selections in the 2026 NFL Draft to the Raiders in the trade.

The trade as of Tuesday afternoon is pending a physical.

Meyers, who originally signed with the New England Patriots as a collegiate free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft, played collegiately at North Carolina State. He played his first four NFL seasons for New England and has 426 career receptions for 4,944 yards and 20 touchdowns.

He caught four passes for 24 yards in the Jaguars' 30-29 overtime victory over the Raiders this past Sunday.

The Jaguars have sustained multiple injuries at wide receiver in recent weeks, with rookie wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter placed on injured reserve with a knee injury Friday and fifth-year veteran Dyami Brown leaving Sunday's game with a concussion.

Second-year wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. also left Sunday's game with an ankle injury.

The Jaguars signed third-year wide receiver Austin Trammell from the practice squad late last week, activating fourth-year wide receiver Tim Jones from the practice squad for Sunday's game.

Meyers acquisition gives the Jaguars six receivers on the active roster:
