JACKSONVILLE – It's here, at last.

The offseason is behind us and real football is upon us, with Jaguars 2026 Training Camp scheduled to begin this week at the Miller Electric Center. The first practice will be held July 29, with practice running through August 26.

Veterans report July 28, with rookies and quarterbacks having reported July 25.

Here's a look at seven key storylines around '26 Jaguars Training Camp:

• Year 2 under Coen. Liam Coen opens his second season as the Jaguars' head coach, having coached the Jaguars to a remarkable turnaround in his first season. Coen became the first rookie head coach in NFL history to coach his team to 13 or more victories after that team won four or fewer the previous season. The Jaguars, who won their third AFC South title in nine seasons last season, haven't made back-to-back postseason appearances since 1998-1999. This feels like a team that can achieve sustained success. Training camp is the next step.
• Quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, had his career-best season in 2025 and finished fifth in the NFL Most Valuable Player voting. He was one of the two or three best players in the NFL in the second half of the season. His increased knowledge, awareness and comfort level in Coen's offense could mean another step here.
• Travis Hunter. Hunter, a wide receiver/cornerback selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, is expected to participate from the start of training camp after missing the last 10 games of his rookie season – and the on-field portion of the '26 offseason program – after a Week 9 knee injury last season. He has added weight and strength, and reportedly ran 22.6 mph late in the offseason. Hunter is expected to play extensively on offense and defense this season. How extensively he plays at either position will be a storyline to watch in the coming weeks.
• Twelve and thirteen. The Jaguars selected two tight ends in the 2026 NFL Draft – Nate Boerkircher of Texas A&M in Round 2 and Tanner Koziol of Houston in Round 5. The moves were made so that the team could better employ multiple tight end formations, also known as "12 and 13 personnel" packages. How those formations fit into an already potent, diverse offense also figures to be a significant camp/preseason storyline.
• Competitive situations. Key training-camp position competitions include second-year veteran Wyatt Milum, veteran Patrick Mekari and rookie Emmanuel Pregnon at guard; Ventrell Miller and Branson Combs at outside linebacker; Danny Striggow, B.J. Green II, Wesley Williams and Zach Durfee behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker at defensive end; and Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez Jr. and LeQuint Allen Jr. at running back. Training camp competition often is competition in name only around the NFL, but competition at these and other positions will be real and intriguing in '26 Jaguars training camp.
• BTJ. Jaguars third-year wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. stood out during the offseason program, with he and Lawrence looking very much in synch and Coen praising Thomas – and the quarterback/receiver timing/connection – throughout organized team activities and minicamp. Thomas struggled at times in 2025 after a Pro Bowl rookie season. If he approaches his '24 production, the Jaguars' already potent receiving corps that features Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers and Hunter will become even more potent.
• Dual meets. The Jaguars will hold dual – or "joint" – practices with all three of their preseason opponents. Those practices: At New Orleans Saints (Ochsner Sports Performance Center), New Orleans, La., Thursday, August 13; Carolina Panthers (Miller Electric Center), Jacksonville, Wednesday, August 19; Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Miller Electric Center), Jacksonville Tuesday/Wednesday, August 25-26. These are significant dates because Coen's philosophy is to emphasize practice – particularly these controlled competitive "joint" sessions – more than preseason games in terms of preparing starters and front-line players for the regular season.
