NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Senior writer John Oehser examines five key plays from the Jaguars’ 25-3 victory over the Tennessee Titans in a 2025 Week 13 game at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday
1. Back-to-back – and six. The Titans had early momentum Sunday – until quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars' passing offense turned in one of their most impressive drives of the season. After a 28-yard field goal by kicker Joey Slye gave the Titans a 3-0 lead, the Jaguars took possession at their 16. Lawrence on third-and-8 from the 18 passed over the middle to a sliding Parker Washington, with the third-year wide receiver making a 26-yard reception for a first-and-10 at the Jaguars 44. Lawrence found wide receiver Jakobi Meyers for a 50-yard gain on a crossing pattern on the ensuing play – the longest Jaguars pass play of the season – for a first-and-goal at the Titans 6. Lawrence passed 3 yards to Meyers on third down to cap a 7-play, 84-yard drive for a 7-3 Jaguars lead with 1:04 remaining in the first quarter. "He's just a really good football player," Lawrence said of Meyers, who caught six passes for 90 yards in his fourth game with the Jaguars after being acquired in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. "He has a great feel. He does everything right, to be honest. He blocks, runs great routes, he's smart, knows when to sit down and has feel for the game, friendly target. He's playing great, got to keep him going. Can't speak highly enough of him, and glad we got him."
2.Saaaack. This game wasn't about huge plays for the Jaguars' defense as much as it was about steadily suffocating a struggling Titans offense. "Our defense played great," Lawrence said. Credit the unit for responding early, allowing just 35 first-half yards after Tennessee drove 70 yards for a field goal on its first possession. "They had a good opening script today," Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard said. "That's what an opening script is about. We weathered the storm big-time holding them to a field goal there. And then we kind of just fell into it. Nice little rhythm and flow, and it was good." The Titans managed just 118 yards after their first drive, with 41 coming on the game's final possession. Defensive end Josh Hines-Allen registered two of the Jaguars' three sacks Sunday. "Man, he was rushing today," Head Coach Liam Coen said of Hines-Allen. "He was pushing the pocket and making life a little bit challenging on their tackles. Very proud of Josh being able to get two and just continue to stack blocks and get better and better each week.

3. Fuuuuumble! The Jaguars already had momentum and a 7-3 lead when rookie running back LeQuint Allen Jr. made a play that helped them push to an early double-digit lead. On the kickoff after the Jaguars' first touchdown, Allen tackled Titans returner Chimere Dike and forced a fumble that Allen recovered at the Titans 35. Lawrence gave the Jaguars a first-and-10 at the Titans 21 with an 11-yard pass to wide receiver Tim Patrick on the final play of the first quarter. Lawrence then threw 21 yards to tight end Brenton Strange in the end zone on the first play of the second quarter, giving the Jaguars a 15-3 lead with 14:54 remaining in the half. Lawrence scored the two-point conversion on a run up the middle after unnecessary roughness on Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons moved the ball to the 1-yard line. "We got a pretty good rhythm early," Lawrence said. "We punted that first drive. After that, I felt like we settled in, protected really well throughout that spurt there and I thought we had a really good plan, especially down in the red zone. We had some stuff that was great. Guys got open, guys made plays after the catch, so it was really good. It wasn't clean in the second half. But I thought we started the game in a rhythm."
4. Rough stuff. The Jaguars held an 18-3 halftime lead, then essentially secured the victory early in the second half – with help from the Titans special teams. The Jaguars' first third-quarter drive stalled at their 19-yard-line after three plays, but safety Mike Brown was called for roughing Jaguars punter Logan Cooke, giving the Jaguars first-and-10 at their 34. The Jaguars drove steadily from there, with rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten capping a 15-play, 71-yard drive with a 2-yard run for a 25-3 lead with 6:45 remaining in the third quarter. Key plays on the drive: Lawrence's 9-yard scramble on third-and-10 from the Titans 13 and his 2-yard run on fourth-and-1 a play before Tuten's touchdown.
5. Culture-building. A low-key big moment Sunday came at the end of the first half, with the Titans missing a chance to cut into a 15-3 Jaguars lead and the Jaguars extending the lead before halftime. First, the Titans failed to convert fourth-and-2 from the Jaguars 21 when quarterback Cam Ward passed incomplete to running back Tony Pollard with :20 remaining in the half. Lawrence threw 13 yards to Meyers before passes to tight end Brenton Strange gained 12 and 12 yards. Lawrence threw incomplete on first-and-10 from the Titans 42 with :01 remaining, but former Jaguars defensive end Arden Key was called for roughing the passer on the play. Key also was called for unnecessary roughness during a skirmish on the Jaguars' sideline following the play. The penalty gave the Jaguars first-and-10 at the Titans 27, with kicker Cam Little's 45-yard field goal on the final play of the half giving the Jaguars an 18-3 lead.
