JACKSONVILLE – Senior writer John Oehser examines Week 3 of 2025 organized team activities at the Miller Electric Center, focusing on the continued progress of Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the '25 offseason

Strong start. Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence increasingly has drawn praise in recent weeks at '25 OTAs, with Head Coach Liam Coen earlier this week specifically lauding the fifth-year veteran's work in red zone. Lawrence, working in his third offensive system and with his third head coach/coordinator in five seasons, has impressed in recent weeks adapting to Coen's system – which emphasizes footwork and timing for a quarterback more than Lawrence's previous two NFL schemes. The Jaguars' first 11-on-11 red-zone work of the offseason came in OTA No. 6 last Friday, with Coen on Monday saying Lawrence excelled in the session. "He made some quick decisions," he said. "Everything is sped up in the red area. The timing, the rhythm, the space – it's all tighter. He has done a nice job with his footwork in the red zone understanding that concept. Good teams in the red zone run the football into the end zone. It's hard to do that in this setting as a lot of it is geared towards practicing the pass game, the timing, the rhythm, the protections – understanding when zero blitz is coming versus drop eight, those are the things we are getting work at. He has done a nice job executing in that area so far."
Developmental period. The Jaguars' offensive line remains a key '25 offseason storyline, with Coen reiterating during OTA Week 3 what he said earlier in the offseason – that the group continues to impress as much as possible in unpadded work. "They've done a really nice job over the last three days in terms of the communication, what we're asking them from a fundamental and technique standpoint," Coen said. The Jaguars aggressively reshaped the line this offseason, signing four unrestricted free agents there – Robert Hainsey, Patrick Mekari, Fred Johnson and Chuma Edoga – with 2025 starters such as left tackle Walker Little left guard Ezra Cleveland and right tackle Anton Harrison returning. The Jaguars also selected Wyatt Milum and Jonah Monheim in the 2025 NFL Draft, with Coen saying this week both players have "done a nice job" in OTAs. While Hainsey is projected to play center and Mekari is projected to play guard, the Jaguars have focused during offseason program on preparing the line for training camp competition. "It's really hard to see the grit and the finish and toughness fully on display in these settings because of the rules and regulations that we have," Coen said. "We're obviously trying to improve every day as a unit – offensively, defensively and special teams. I do think that group specifically has done a nice job, specifically over the last few days."
