JACKSONVILLE – The next game is tough, and it's approaching fast.
That's the nature of professional football, and it's why quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars on Wednesday were very much focused on the immediate future and very much not focused on their recent prime-time past.
Onward. Absolutely.
"That's part of this league," Lawrence said.
Added linebacker Devin Lloyd, "Everybody has to stay hungry."
The Jaguars (4-1), winners of three consecutive games and co-leaders of the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts, will play host to the Seattle Seahawks (3-2) at EverBank Stadium Sunday. The Seahawks won three consecutive games before a 38-35 loss this past Sunday to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"A challenge for us, for sure," Lawrence called the Seahawks, with defensive end Josh Hines-Allensaying: "We just have to play with that try-to-get-the-next-win mentality and just keep stacking them. We have a good team coming in this week."

The Seahawks indeed are a tough opponent, and that was a big focus around the Jaguars Wednesday. Just as big:
An overriding feeling among Jaguars players and coaches that despite beating one of the NFL's best teams on Monday – the three-time defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs – they hadn't played all that well in the game.
"I don't want to say we're the most pissed-off 4-1 team, but there are definitely some feelings in the building of knowing we have not put out 60 minutes of our best football," Head Coach Liam Coen said. "I think they know there's still some meat left on the bone after a really cool win."
The Jaguars on Sunday will be playing on a "short week" after beating the three-time defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs, 31-28, Monday – their first victory on Monday Night Football since 2011.
"You have to be able to move on quickly," Lawrence said. "Physically, playing a Monday Night game is a quicker turnaround. You lose almost two days. It's trying to take care of your bodies and get ready to go because today's a Wednesday and we have to prepare for Seattle.
"That's always a little bit of a challenge, but everyone has to do it. Everybody plays Monday Night games. It's just something that comes with the territory. We have to get back as quick as possible and get a great week of preparation in for a really good Seattle team.
"It's a big win this past week, but now we're on to the next week. Its still early in the season and we have a lot more work to do and we got to just keep getting better."

Recovering physically following a late Monday night was a priority in recent days, with a players off day Tuesday followed by a later-than-usual – and lighter-than-usual – Wednesday practice that was close to walkthrough tempo.
"We just have to get our bodies back right," Hines-Allen said. "Guys are staying in the training room and getting a lot of treatment. We have a lot of true professionals and coach is taking care of us as well. He's not running us down to the dirt off a short week.
"We know as professionals what we need to do. We know [Thursday] we have to pick it up and get ready to practice."
The Jaguars' 4-1 record marks their best start since 2007, and they're in first place in the AFC South for the first time since losing five out of their last six games during the 2023 season to miss the postseason.
"It's something we have to handle the right way," Lawrence said of the three-game winning streak and victory over the Chiefs. "We've got to know that we haven't done anything. The only thing we're guaranteed is that we're going to win four games this year, which isn't enough.
"We have a lot more work to do. The guys know what the right mindset is, and guys know that we play a really good Seattle team this week. If you're still thinking about the game we just won, then that's a problem.
"We've got to move on. So, I really like our group and how mature we are. We've handled everything well so far. We have to continue to do that."

NOTABLE
- Lawrence on whether the Jaguars as a team have begun to take on Coen's personality: "He really has brought a lot of energy. The team for sure is taking on some of that, just the way he carries himself. In the locker room, on the field, on the sideline – that passion and that energy is contagious. Our team has bought into that."
