JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars on Thursday practiced at the Miller Electric Center.
The Jaguars (1-1) will host the two-time defending AFC South champion Houston Texans (0-2) in a 2025 Week 3 division game at EverBank Stadium Sunday. A look at Thursday around the Jaguars – with defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile and offensive coordinator Grant Udinski speaking to the media before practice and rookie wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter among players speaking after practice:
His role is growing, and Hunter is ready.
He's also feeling good physically – and if the rookie's not surprised by that, it's noteworthy considering his situation.
"My body feels great," he said.
Hunter – selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft – has played 61% of the Jaguars' snaps on offense in two games and 37 on defense, playing 43 snaps on defense last week in a 31-27 road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and 42 on offense. He played 42 snaps on offense and 6 on defense in a Week 1 victory over the Carolina Panthers.
Hunter won the Heisman Trophy in 2024 as a two-way player.
"I played way more snaps in college," he said. "I feel great. It's not new. I just need to do what I need to be able to help my team in the best way possible."
Campanile on Thursday praised Hunter's performance and managing of his workload.
"We have a plan in place for his progression," Campanile said. "He's trending the right way and obviously the more he plays the better and better he is going to be. He's really locked into the game, and I thought he did a good job on Sunday."
Hunter has 9 receptions for 55 yards in two games, with Udinski calling his offensive progression "great."
"We're certainly trying to use him in controlled settings in certain situations that apply for his skillset, but he's embraced that role and continued to grow it kind of week to week," Udinski said.

Parker Washington keeps earning opportunities, and that could continue.
Washington, a third-year veteran wide receiver who impressed throughout training camp and preseason, led the Jaguars with five receptions for 76 yards against the Bengals Sunday after not catching a pass in Week 1.
Head Coach Liam Coen on Wednesday said Washington "has absolutely earned a bigger role" moving forward.
"Parker has continued to ascend and perform, whether it be out in the practice field, in the meeting settings and then on Sundays," Coen said. "When we went into last week, we wanted to get him a bigger role and to get him going. Didn't do a good enough job of that in Week 1."
Coen called Washington a "a great example of a guy staying the course."
"How does he respond, how does he handle it?" Coen said, referring to Washington not being targeted in Week 1. "And then he goes out on Sunday and makes plays and makes some huge plays for us."

The Jaguars through two games rank seventh in the NFL against the run at 80.1 yards per game, with Campanile on Thursday praising tackles Arik Armstead and DaVon Hamilton and ends Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen for how they played Sunday. The Jaguars allowed the Bengals 48 yards on 17 carries.
"We're trending the way we want to play," Campanile said. "We're trending in the right direction in terms of play style. It has to be every snap every day, every practice. So, you're never not working on that and you never have it and the game's got a way of humbling you, so you've got to keep working at it."

The Jaguars on Thursday released their second of three injury reports for the week, with starting left guard Ezra Cleveland missing a second consecutive practice Thursday with an ankle injury sustained against the Bengals.
Wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. practiced limited with a wrist issue after practicing full Wednesday and tight end Hunter Long practiced limited with an ankle injury after missing practice Wednesday.
Reserve running back Bhayshul Tuten practiced limited with a shoulder issue for a second consecutive day after playing against the Bengals, with rookie guard Wyatt Milum practicing limited for a second consecutive day with a knee issue that kept him out of the first two games. Cornerback Jarrian Jones practiced limited for a consecutive day with a back injury sustained Sunday.
Reserve cornerback Montaric Brown practiced full for a second consecutive day after missing the first two games with an ankle injury.
