JACKSONVILLE – Jaguars 2026 Training Camp continued Tuesday.

It was the sixth day of the second training camp under Head Coach Liam Coen, featuring a two-hour practice in full pads at the Miller Electric Center. Each day throughout camp, members of Jaguars Media – senior writer John Oehser, senior correspondent Brian Sexton, team reporter Kainani Stevens and correspondent John Shipley – will share an observation.

• This was a day for the defense. It is the nature of NFL training camps that both sides of the ball are not thrilled every day – and after a Monday in which cornerback Jourdan Lewis said, "we got our head kicked in," the defense played decidedly better Tuesday.  Safety Antonio Johnson intercepted quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 11-on-11 work, with cornerback Jarrian Jones intercepting backup quarterback Nick Mullens. Linebacker Branson Combs registered two pass breakups, with Jones also registering a pass breakup Tuesday. "I thought today, for us defensively, was a little bit better than yesterday," Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile said. Rookie wide receiver CJ Williams continued to stand out along with rookie wide receiver Josh Cameron, with that duo showing strong signs of making the regular-season roster and giving the Jaguars a receiving corps of Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Williams and Cameron. That's a group with front-line quality and potentially strong depth. Also: Anton Harrison on Tuesday continued working at left tackle, having played there primarily through the early part of training camp. That's starting to feel more and more like a "thing" that could become a permanent thing.

• The Jaguars wide receivers are really good, maybe the roster's deepest spot, and the trio of Meyers/Washington/Thomas figures to only improve with Hunter back in the mix after missing the last 10 games of last regular season with a knee injury. While there seems little room for two rookies to find a spot, wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett may have to adjust based on Week 1 of '26 camp. The Jaguars may have found a couple of Round 6 gems Cameron and Williams, each of whom has made at least one big play in every practice. I was amazed how effortlessly Williams flipped his hips and adjusted to a ball thrown where he wasn't expecting it for a touchdown in team drills Sunday. That was a big-time play for the kid from Stanford – and on Tuesday, he made a horizontal move at the goal line, stretched to grab a pass outside the boundary, and had the presence of mind to tap both feet down for another touchdown. Cameron, a big target at 224 pounds, has looked comfortable in the middle of the field – which isn't the norm for rookie receivers. Every time I look in his direction, he makes a play. Both must be productive on special teams because that's what a fifth receiver must do. They will have plenty of opportunities to prove they can do so in August, but it looks thus far the Jaguars found great value in the late rounds of the draft.

• The second padded day of '26 Jaguars camp was a breakout day for the defense or a poor offense showing – depending on how you looked at it. I was deeply impressed by the defensive secondary during red-zone periods Tuesday. Jones utilized the sideline as wide receiver Washington came down with a twisting grab but could not remain inbounds. Combs had a good pass breakup over the middle. Overall, Trevor Lawrence and fellow quarterbacks were forced to throw the ball away several times due to excellent defensive coverage. Campanile said after practice he takes training camp day-by-day and doesn't allow a good or bad showing dictate the process, saying he focuses on bringing good energy and honest communication across the board. Wednesday will be another player's day off before they return Thursday for a lighter practice without pads.

• After a few impressive days by the offense, the Jaguars' defense had its big day of training camp on Tuesday. The defense flew around and seemed to keep the offense out of rhythm for most of the day, with the Jaguars completing very few passes downfield and in the red zone. The highlights of the strong defensive performance came in the form of three interceptions – safety Eric Murray and Jones off Mullens and Johnson off Lawrence. Combs also stood out, registering a pass breakup covering running back DeeJay Dallas in the red zone shortly after he defensed a downfield pass to prevent a reception by Washington. Campanile said after practice that the secondary has "just continued to grow," and that growth was apparent more than a few times Tuesday.
